Phorms Students in Geneva

Datum:
Two math teachers from Phorms Süd and Mitte campus' travelled with 10 students interested in math or physics to Geneva to visit the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. They were able to have a full day guided tour of the complex where they learned about the history, science and politics of CERN. The students learned how the electrons are isolated, sped up to almost light speed and then forced to collide, as well as what the scientists at CERN have been able to learn from this. They also learned that at CERN everyone works with a common scientific goal and refuse to judge each other based on religion, skin color or any other external factor, most important is that they create an entirely inclusive environment where everyone is able to work to their full potential. They also had the chance to visit the UN office in Geneva and learn about the current projects that the UN are working on. The students behaved as ambassadors of the school  displaying the intelligence, curiosity and maturity that we try to nurture in the classroom.  It was an unforgettable experience for everyone that was involved.
