At our Berlin Mitte campus, with its historic brick building in the neighbourhood of Volkspark Humboldthain, around 950 children and students are immersed in a bilingual German/English education. They experience an all-day community that enables differentiated learning from kindergarten to Abitur in a diverse environment. Founded in 2005, Phorms Berlin Mitte has been enriching the educational landscape for over 20 years.

Our campus offers a continuous bilingual education programme from kindergarten to Abitur. From the age of two, your child is immersed in a bilingual environment—playfully and naturally. Native-speaking teachers guide the children in both German and English through the immersion method. They grow up in a setting that enriches them both linguistically and personally.

At Phorms Campus Berlin Mitte, your child will benefit from comprehensive all-day care that extends beyond the classroom. Our state-of-the-art facilities for science, sports, and music provide the perfect environment for exploring and developing individual talents. Our focus is on developing your child's unique talents. Abilities are identified early and specifically fostered through initiatives such as remedial lessons and the revolving door extended-learning model. An engaging afternoon programme and various competitions further enhance the learning experience.

Location

Our campus is situated in Berlin’s Mitte district, near the Berlin Wall Memorial and Humboldthain Park. The garden square opposite provides a peaceful green space for breaks. With excellent transport connections, the campus is easily accessible.

  • How many students are in a class?

    To ensure effective and personalised learning, we maintain a balanced class size. For example, there are currently 24 children in the secondary school.

  • Where do the English-speaking teachers come from?

    We are proud of our diverse English-speaking community. Our native English-speaking teachers come from every English-speaking country in the world.

  • Is there a school uniform?

    Yes, we have a clothing collection. Primary school students are obliged to choose tops and sportswear from this collection.

Bilingual Education

Bilingual Education: fluent in German and English

Language learning at Phorms is an active, immersive process. German and English are equal languages of instruction and communication. From Kindergarten onwards, children and young adults are guided by both German- and English-speaking educators and teachers in their daily routines. In primary school, lessons are evenly split between the two languages, allowing students to acquire language skills naturally through real-life experiences. In secondary school, students continue to learn equally in both German and English, building a strong subject-specific vocabulary in both languages. By the time they graduate, they are fluent and confident in both languages—an excellent advantage for their further studies.

With the extra time gained through full-day care, we can work more intensively with students, fostering both self-confidence and respect for the abilities of others.

In primary school, teaching assistants regularly support students in small groups—whether they need additional challenges or extra guidance. Smaller class sizes allow for more focused learning, with a guideline of 22 students per class in primary school and 24 students per class in secondary school, ensuring optimal supervision and support.
