For the second year in a row, we were able to put up our Christmas tree in the classroom. New this year: on December 2, after returning from the long weekend, the kids found a small Advent calendar. In consultation with the parents' representatives, I was allowed to spend 100 euros and, in addition to highlighters (always missing!) and a concentration ring (hope dies last), I also found an individual little something for each of them (spoiler: Christmas sprinkles, mini Lego building sets, Christmas socks, winter hand warmer, etc.) and packed them. The trick: The "little door" can only be opened if a Christmas or wintery contribution has been made beforehand. Today I was already delighted with a duet from the Christmas bakery, the pupil for the next door is planning to hand out gingerbread, a mini-performance of the fairy tale Frau Holle is probably already being planned, as is a winter version of the Erlkönig... So it certainly won't be boring until the vacations begin.
