We have started talking to our preschoolers about different shapes that we encounter in everyday life. Triangles, squares, rectangles - and who knows, maybe even a trapezoid or two?
The ants really got stuck in, cutting out shapes, tracing and sticking on figures. Along the way, they repeated the names of the shapes over and over again. Multitasking? No problem for our little shape artists!
While the kids were busy crafting, we adults hung the shapes on the wall - clearly visible so that they could be examined again later. And what can we say? Some even started to discover letter frequencies in the words. We were really impressed!
