Our after-school programme took our children on a journey into the magic of winter during the holidays. They explored the fascinating world of hibernators and hibernators and learnt how marmots, squirrels, toads, badgers etc. survive the cold season. In the Humboldthain, the children became environmental heroes. They collected wood for feeding houses made from Tetra-Paks and then made bird food as well as these.
The picture gallery offered the opportunity to look for animals in pictures and mould them out of wax.
To round off the week, the children slipped into the role of kings and queens. In addition to the cinema, technology museum and puppet theatre, the wide range of activities offered fun as well as valuable learning experiences about nature, environmental protection and their own personalities.
