Find out everything you need to know for a successful start for your child with us at PhorMinis: the registration, introductory days, placement and fees. You can easily enrol your child using our registration form - the first step towards an exciting and loving time at our kindergarten!
In Berlin, a daycare voucher (Kita-Gutschein) covers part of the basic costs for kindergarten and reception. This voucher is a mandatory requirement for enrolling your child at Phorms.
To ensure a smooth process, please apply for the voucher at least two months before your child’s planned start date at your local district office (Bezirksamt).
The district office will assess your application based on your childcare needs, parental employment status, your child's age and any special family circumstances.
You will then receive your day care voucher from the City of Berlin, detailing the allocated care hours and the validity period.
To ensure the best carer-to-child ratio in our kindergarten and reception, we have established a Friends’ Association to which parents contribute a monthly fee. Along with any care needed beyond that which is covered by the day care voucher, this determines your monthly costs. Under 20,000 €:135 €, 50,000 € or more:212 €, 75,000 € or more:246 €, 100,000 € or more:275 € and more than 130,000 €:349 €.
The monthly membership fee in the Friends’ Association for children in the day care centre before entering preschool is €126. From preschool onwards, the fee is based on the family’s gross income and is 0.31% of the income from two years prior to the current school year. This contribution is recalculated annually based on the family’s income to account for any fluctuations. In addition, upon entering preschool, a one-off admission fee of 1% of the family’s income from two years prior is charged (less a €250 parental fee, which is only payable upon entering primary school).
In Germany, under certain conditions, parental contributions and support association fees may be deductible as childcare expenses on your tax return. According to Section 10 (1) No. 5 EStG, up to two-thirds of childcare-related expenses—up to a maximum of €4,800 per child—can be deducted, provided the child lives in the taxpayer's household.
Please note that expenses for lessons, private tutoring, sports, or other leisure activities are not tax-deductible. For detailed advice on your individual situation, we recommend consulting your tax advisor.
If you register more than one child, you will benefit from our sibling discount.
The full monthly school fee applies to the eldest child. The second eldest receives a 25% discount, the third eldest enjoys a 50% reduction, and the fourth and all subsequent children benefit from a 75% discount on school fees.
Do you have questions about our kindergarten or the registration process? We will be delighted to assist you with any queries.
